How to Prep
Be sure to exfoliate your skin properly 2 days before your appointment! No exfoliating the day of your appointment as the sugaring will do that for you. Don’t apply any lotions, oils, etc. to your skin prior to your sugaring appointment because the sugar sticks better on clean skin. If discomfort is a concern to you, some find relief in taking an advil, tylenol, or any pain reliever 20-30 minutes prior to your appointment. Avoid caffeine or alcohol the day of your appointment. Take some deep breaths because you are in good hands! :)
What to do after getting sugared
Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate! At least 2 days after your sugaring appointment, begin exfoliating using a sugar scrub, washcloth, exfoliating gloves, etc. Exfoliating helps to keep ingrown hairs at bay with consistent, gentle exfoliation 3-4 times per week. Exfoliation promotes circulation and frees the skin of excess build-up that often results in ingrown hairs. It also allows the sugaring treatment to be less troublesome and results in a timely session as dead or dry skin can accumulate. Moisturize your skin daily!
Avoid working out, pools, sunbathing, or saunas for 24 hours.
Wait at least 24 hours before applying any lotions, oils, deodorants or anything with chemical irritants.
It is not advised to shave in between appointments because the hair growth cycles will start over and the hair will grow back thicker and stronger
